About The Practitioner

Corwin Allen West Licensed Massage Therapist, Lymphologist, AS in Electrical Engineering.

I have over 700 hours of training in Massage Therapy.

I feel that I have been trained by some of the most gifted people in the world, two of which are NaturoPathic Doctors. One of them a Lymphologist; my father Dr. C. Samuel West, D.N., N.D., Chemist and Lymphologist and as recognized by the International Society of Lymphology: The International Academy of Lymphology as the first school in the world pioneering the teaching of Lymphology Internationaly to be taught to the Lay Public where an eight year old could take the course and pass the 261 question exam. He authored the text book The Golden Seven Plus One of the complete home study course in Applied Lymphology. I helped build my fathers two businesses; World Wide Blood Protein Research Foundation and International Academy of Lymphology of which I eventually became the CEO of the IAL. Those who came to our home in Orem, Utah often were introduced to me by my father and then he referred to me as his "right hand man". I feel that it was an honor that he did that so frequently in my life. I watched throughout my life my father, had so many people that walked in crooked and in pain and they walked out straight out of pain. I always wanted to be able to do that!

In 1974 my family: Dr. C. Samuel West, Johna May West and nine brothers and sisters were on our way to the West Family Reunion in Show Low Arizona. We took a break at a rest stop and I remember being in agonizing pain with a burning sensation above and below my hip area, my hip was out to such an extreme that I was begging my Dad for help. He said to me: “have you been doing what I taught you?” I replied yes, (as to the best of my knowledge at the time) Then he said ok, let me see what you have been doing. Then I proceeded to show him what I thought he taught me and while I was going through the motion, he then corrected me and said: “No, son, you have to work the full length of the muscle” and proceeded to show me what that meant, which covered from the back of the upper knee up to the floating rib, covering what I refer to now as three muscle groups. I proceeded to work as instructed and in a very short period of time was able to achieve some much needed pain relief, of which I was very grateful and a life lesson never to be forgotten and this very principle is used in my practice to this day. I simplify things with the help of  two priceless assessments, cutting my quesswork in half, by referring to them as Seven Muscle Groups that control the alignment of the hips, if you count both the right and left side of the body it is actually Fourteen Muscle Groups total.

I would like to express my deep gratitude for Dr. Jed Adamson, N.D. out of Twin Falls, Idaho. I was taking Massage Therapy classes with Dr. Jed Adamson, N.D., when I expressed to him the pain that was migrating all over the back of my shoulder and told him that I was unable to pin point exactly where the source of the problem was. It was then, that he performed the motion of the Pain Relief Technique of puting the biceptal tendon back into the biceptal groove, while he performed this Pain Relief Technique the biceptal tendon made a loud pop as this tendon snaped back into its groove and could be heard by many of my class mates. I was astonished at what had just taken place. Ever since this experience I have been able to keep my biceptal tendon in place on my own. I am so greatful that I do not have to go through life with this agonizing pain. I can not tell you how many countless other people I have been able to help with this very same condition, I also became aware that there are an awful lot of people who are suffering with the same problem. I quickly grew for an appreciation for Dr. Jed Adamson, N.D. expertise, he has taught me several priceless assessments and skills for improving the health and well being of people. I combined the knowledge that I gained from my father, with the education that I have gained from Dr. Jed Adamson, N.D. and now I feel that I have a very powerful and priceless form of practice that far exceeds most of my competition. Some of the best things I do today is because of these two great men. I am who I am today as a Massage Therapist and Lymphologist in large part because of them.

God made this body, we are the caretakers of our own temple that houses our spirits. They can not make a computer that can come close to out perform what the brain can do. There is life and death in the blood; when we disobey Gods laws we reap the penalty, Anger, Lose of Temper, Holding Grudges will dilate the membrane of the lymphatic capillary, Albumin [our blood protein that should remain in a high concentration in our circulatory system to prevent the circulatory system from collapsing, also known as death by shock, (called hypo-albumanimia)] is consistently leaving the blood stream but leaves faster when we break these God given laws of health and as Dr. Arthur C. Guyton, M.D. who wrote the TEXTBOOK OF MEDICAL PHYSIOLOGY SIXTH EDITION has stated that “We shall see that this removal of proteins from the interstitial spaces is an absolutely essential function without which we would die within about 24 hours.” I think that they might have softened that statement in later editions and extended it out to 48 hours now. What we do as Massage Therapist is increase the recovery of the Albumin of at least 20% back into the blood stream. The Lymphatic System is a very slow moving system. As a Lymphologist I know how to increase this process to achieve maximum recovery. I believe that I can go beyond the so often stated 20%.

I always ask the question as first given me by my Physics Professor Paul Mills at Utah Valley State College, now known as Utah Valley University: “How much is too much and how little is too little?”. I add to that quote by saying: “and where is the balance for maximum recovery?”

I have been blessed with a gift of healing and it is my desire to use it to help speed up the healing processes. I learned from my father: Dr. C. Samuel West, D.N., N.D., Chemist and Lymphologist that "muscles constrict in lack of oxygen". His course teaches the cause of lack of oxygen at the cell level and how, if at all possible to increase oxygen in the muscles or simply the interstitial spaces of the cells throughout the body.

I lead a very busy life working two jobs; a Driver for Salt Lake Express and my prefered thing to do is Massage Therapy, I also feed sheep in the morning and provide meals for my family and other house work.
